We have piloted and offered HG-e at five public schools and are collaborating witha Fortune 500 company to bring the program to its employees.
In collaboration with InSciEd out, Mayo Clinic, and Rochester Public School District, we have recently completed the first clinical trial of HG-e among third-grade students at the Gage Elementary Public School.
List of studies:
1. Pilot evaluation to assess feasibility of HG-e delivery via interactive live video sessions. July-October 2020.
This study enrolled 7 elementary school children in the 12-week program deliveredvia Zoom. 6 participants completed > 80% of the sessions. The study thus showedhigh engagement with the program via synchronous live video sessions.
2. Pilot evaluation to assess feasibility of HG-e delivery via interactive live videosessions. October 2020-January 2021
This study enrolled 18 participants (6 elementary school and 3 middle school, 9parents). 15 participants completed > 80% of the sessions. The second pilot alsoshowed high engagement across a broader age range.
Based on the feedback from the above two pilots the program was modified, andtwo additional pilots were run before launching the first IRB approved clinicaltrial.
3. Pilot evaluation to assess feasibility of HG-e delivery using a hybrid approach(online and in-person) at Longfellow Elementary School, Rochester, MN. Jan-March 2021.
This study enrolled 25 third-grade students and was conducted in partnership witha school counselor. The study showed high engagement and feasibility of deliveryin classroom setting, both virtually and in person.
4. Pilot evaluation to assess feasibility of HG-e delivery via interactive live videosessions. Frankfurt International School, Germany. March-June 2021.
This study enrolled 30 participants (15 parent-child dyads). A total of 11 dyadscompleted > 80% of the sessions. Qualitative feedback showed promising resultswith respect to efficacy. The study showed high engagement and feasibility ofdelivery internationally, along with promising efficacy signal.
5. Pilot Study of HappiGenius Social-Emotional Learning Curriculum in RochesterPublic Schools. March-June 2021.
This was the first IRB approved clinical trial of HappiGenius-Elementary programin third-grade students at the Gage Elementary School, Rochester MN. The studywas conducted in collaboration with Mayo Clinic and InSciEd Out. Theintervention was delivered in person. The study has shown promising efficacy datathat is being analyzed and prepared for publication.
